Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM)

The Australian National Veterans Arts Museum (ANVAM) exists to promote the arts across the Veteran Community, to enhance veterans’ wellbeing through the arts, and to share stories of our serving members, veterans and their families.

ANVAM is Australia’s home of veteran-led creativity, supporting wellbeing, connection and identity for the Defence community. We deliver workshops, exhibitions, festivals, creative development and community arts experiences across the full spectrum of the arts: visual, performing, writing, music and multidisciplinary practice. We welcome all experience levels, from first-timers to professional artists.

Our point of difference is our definition of “veteran”: we include current serving, former serving and their families. This is true inclusivity reflecting the reality that service is shared, as is the impact. Our programs are designed by veterans, for veterans, and powered by the belief that everyone has a creative voice worth exploring.

ANVAM is grounded in the values of being non-judgemental, inclusive, veteran-community focused and respectful. We provide safe, supportive, non-clinical spaces where people can create, connect and thrive through art. Our lived-experience leadership and welcoming approach set us apart as a unique, community-driven arts organisation for the entire Defence community.
