  • What is Engage?

    Engage is an online portal that current, transitioning, and former ADF members; their families, and/or those involved in their support can use to locate support services.

    Engage simplifies the process of accessing support by providing information on not-for-profit services available from a range of service providers. For more information please visit the About Engage page.

  • How does Engage work?

    Engage simplifies the process of accessing support by providing information on not-for-profit services available from a range of service providers.

    Engage will ‘connect’ users to specific support providers based on different criteria including their:

    • Need
    • Physical location – local, regional and national, and
    • Service or support required.
  • Who is Engage operated by?

    Engage is operated by the Department of Defence, with data maintained by participating service providers.

  • What type of support services can be accessed through Engage?

    The following categories of support services can be accessed through Engage:

    • Emergency Support
    • Staying Active
    • Financial and Legal Support
    • Employment Services
    • Assisted Living
    • Claims and Pension Assistance
    • Health and Wellbeing
    • Partners, Parents and Families
    • Work on Behalf of the Veteran Community
  • Are there any costs involved?

    The Engage website is a free service, and all services offered on Engage are free of charge. For more information, please view the About Us page.

  • How do I access Engage?

    Engage is accessible through any World Wide Web enabled device.

  • Can I print web pages including search results?

    Yes you can using your browser’s built in print feature (try CTRL-P on Windows or COMMAND-P on Mac).

    Also when you click through to view the detail of a search result there is a print link available too.

  • Can I get directions on my mobile device?

    Yes you can. Try clicking ‘Directions’ for an office when viewing the map included in the detailed search result.

  • Can I save my search results?

    Not at this stage but it is something that is being considered in a future release for Engage.

  • How do I report a problem with Engage?

    1800DEFENCE is the first point of contact for all technical issues you may experience when using the Engage website. They will conduct the initial analysis required to resolve, or correctly assign, your request. In cases where they are not able to resolve your issue, they will take your details, those of your issue and assign the call to the appropriate area for resolution. You will be contacted at the first available opportunity after that to discuss your issue further or advise you of the resolution.

    When you call 1800DEFENCE ensure that you advise them that you are an Engage user.

  • Why should I register my services on Engage?

    Engage simplifies the process of finding information and accessing support services through tailored recommendations based on a range of 'needs' such as location, service type etc.

    The Engage website provides a one-stop-shop for information and support services for ADF members who are wounded, injured or ill, their families and those involved in their support.

  • How do I register my Services?

    Please follow the instructions set out in the Service Provider Guide on how to register your charitable and not-for-profit services on Engage.
  • Is Engage confidential?

    Yes.  Personal information is not exchanged or shared through use of the Engage website.
