Help is available but it can be hard to know where to access the information to get the help and support you need. Australian War Widows Queensland can be your advocate and ensure that you are getting all of the information and support you need to live a happy and healthy life. We can support you in a way that cuts through the red tape and makes things easier. Some of the ways we help our members every day include:
-solving or clarifying issues with hospitalisation or transition care
-liaising with family members or other loved ones in a time of need
-liaising with DVA or myagedcare to source information and support services
-linking members and their families to other service providers or community supports such as Podiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Family Counsellors etc.
-hospital or home visits
-emotional support and counselling referrals
-information on dealing with challenging day-to-day issues
-sourcing home assistance
